YP BRANCH CHOCTAWS COBAN EXHIBITS A MODIFYING COLOR PATTERN CALLED "MARBLING". SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT SHE IS A PINTALOOSA, BUT SHE IS NOT.  THIS MODIFYING PATTERN, ACCORDING TO HORSE COLOR EXPLAINED by JEANETTE GOWER, "IS UNUSUAL IN THAT IT RARELY, IF EVER, IS PRESENT IN IMMATURE HORSES. SOME DO NOT SHOW EVIDENCE OF DEVELOPMENT UNTIL WELL INTO ADULTHOOD, SAY SEVEN TO EIGHT YEARS OF AGE. IT APPEARS TO BE INHERITED DIRECTLY, RATHER THAN SKIPPING GENERATIONS." COBAN ACTUALLY STARTED SHOWING HER MARBLING AT AGE 5. SO FAR, HER FOALS ARE STILL TOO YOUNG TO KNOW IF THEY TOO WILL HAVE MARBLE MARKINGS.
